UNICEF Ambassadors
Children, young people and adults collaborate to develop and maintain a school community based on equality, dignity, respect, non-discrimination and participation; this includes learning and teaching in a way that respects the rights of both educators and learners and promotes wellbeing. Our Unicef ambassadors are a key part in promoting the rights of the child, raising the profile of Unicef throughout school and making links to rights in class.
We are a rights respecting school with a silver award and we are working hard to achieve our Gold. The rights of the child are the foundations of every single aspect of school life and are embedded in our ethos. We believe that every child should be able to access all their rights and work together as a school community to ensure this happens.
Our ambassadors are the bridge between the leadership team and the classroom. And their role includes:
- Attending fortnightly steering group meetings
- Promoting UNICEF rights in class and around school.
- Organising UNICEF special days
- Fundraising
- Raising the profile of UNICEF in school
- Making links to the right of the child in very lesson.
