Prefects
Prefects are an extension of the Head boy and girl; they have been meticulously chosen based on their skill set and are expected to perform certain responsibilities in school. Giving them some authority in school is a step towards gaining lifelong leadership skills. There are several advantages that come with this position, which include developing leaders of the future, creating role models for other pupils and building up pupils’ confidence and self-esteem.
Their role includes:
- Meeting once a fortnight to discuss their views and be heard.
- Note down issues and concerns into their ‘Prefect Pupil Voice’ notebook.
- Bring forward any issues, concerns or ideas from peers that they wish to discuss at the next meeting.
- To organise whole school events such as charity days
- To make sure our school is a happy and safe place for all our children
- To make sure children have a place to voice their concerns, opinions, and thoughts
- To encourage all children in school to suggest ideas and improvements
- To ensure any suggestions or concerns are listened to and acted upon.
- To ensure that the correct school uniform is worn. All concerns are raised with the Learning Mentor
